Sometimes, the best gift we can give is our time. That is why all members of Pirate Bay Roller Derby dedicate evenings and weekends every month to our trail clean up efforts, and events that help our league and charities. We believe in the power of donating our energy to help keep our cities clean, and our fellow citizens well taken care-of. You’ll find us in our purple shirts at events all around Pasco and Pinellas counties!
Donations & Drives
Whether it be school supplies, pet food or toiletries, the members and fans of PBRD have tremendous power to help our local charities in our themed drives. We coordinate with Astro Skate of Tarpon Springs to help fill the bus with school supplies, canned food, and toys (depending on the season). In addition, we feature one of our partnered charities every game and donate a portion of our ticket profits to that charity!
Children are our future, and as a league founded on building familial bonds and supporting each other as fellow parents, we strive to provide strong leadership to all. We donate to, and try to keep up with, younger skaters of The Attack Pack roller derby team every month. The vibrant and highly energetic skaters of TAP are the future of roller derby and it is our goal to support them in any way we can!
Keep Pinellas Beautiful
We "Adopt a Mile" of the Pinellas Trail!
Since our start in October of 2016, we’ve cleaned the trail every second month of the year. We average 10 pounds of trash each trip, including cigarette stubs, cans, and a few lotto tickets, too! Since we regularly skate on the Pinellas Trail as a team, it’s important for us all to pitch in to help keep the natural Florida beauty trash-free. It typically takes two hours for us to fine-comb for all of the detritus. We look for trash not one but TWO times on our mile, as we walk the stretch from north and then back south.
